AGENDA DESCRIPTION

The Lusitano Project Agenda aims to promote the reindustrialisation of the national Textile and Clothing Industry (ITV) through the implementation of R&D, Productive Innovation, Training and Internationalisation activities that make it possible to bring a crucial part of the ITV value chain back to Europe, specifically the ability to manufacture yarns from recycled and natural fibres, and subsequently new and innovative textile and clothing products with higher added value. The Agenda also aims to promote the competitive transformation of the sector through concerted R&D efforts into intelligent systems, in line with the Industry 4.0 and Internet of Things paradigms, and into effluent treatment and reuse systems, in order to drastically reduce the consumption of water resources. Finally, the aim is to promote and disseminate its results, generating a contagion effect for other organisations.

AGENDA GOALS

1. Reindustrialization of the textile sector in Portugal based on a sustainability strategy (business and environmental).
2. Research and Development (R&D) of new Textile and Clothing solutions based on natural and/or recycled fibers.
3. R&D of new technological solutions for the production of recycled/natural yarn and for the Textile Factory of the Future, following the principles of Industry 4.0.
4. R&D of energy and resource management solutions for the textile and clothing sector, addressing environmental and energy-related challenges associated with the exploration of new fibers and materials.
5. Job creation, particularly in qualified positions, along with corresponding training.
6. Promotion of project results and internationalization of the national Sustainable Label.
